Susceptibilities of Culex tritaeniorhynchus (Culicidae: Diptera) larvae to insecticides

In a series of susceptibility tests with 22 insecticides against C. tritaeniorhynchus larvae, pyrethroids proved the most effective. The LC50 for cyhalothrin and cypermethrin was 1.6x10-6 ppm and 5.4x10-6 ppm, respectively. Deltamethrin LC50 was 5.03x10-4 ppm, a 23.9 fold increase in resistance since 1980. The LC50 of fenthion and dichlorvos was 60.32 ppm and 31.21 ppm, respectively, which represented 65.9 and 23.8 fold increases in resistance.
