Susceptibility of canegrubs to the insecticide chlorpyrifos

Proceedings of the 1997 conference of the Australian Society of Sugar Cane Technologists held at Cairns, Queensland, 29th April to 2nd May 1997: 118-126

The susceptibility of 10 species of sugarcane scarabaeid larvae to chlorpyrifos was measured and effects of larvae body weight and soil type on susceptibility were assessed. Laboratory data were related to the relative success of field control, and the likelihood of cane larvae being or becoming chlorpyrifos-resistant was assessed. Lethal dosages for the most susceptible species were ~15 times greater than for the least susceptible.
