A study of the comparative susceptibility of freshly cut logs of Pinus merkusii and Gonystylus bancanus to wood borers, and of the effectiveness of insecticide applications in attack prevention was carried out in felled areas in Central Kalimantan and West Java. Logs of G. bancanus were more susceptible to borer attack, which occurred within several days of felling, while attack on logs of P.merkusii did not occur for several weeks.
