Susceptibility of products of the chocolate industry to contamination by Ephestia cautella (Walker) and Plodia interpunctella (Hubner)(Pyralidae:Phycitinae)

Susceptibility of products of the chocolate industry to contamination by Ephestia cautella (Walker) and Plodia interpunctella (Hubner)(Pyralidae:Phycitinae)

Industrie Alimentari 34(341): 988-991

Results concerning the susceptibility of different products used in the chocolate industry to Ephestia cautella and Plodia interpunctella contamination are reported. The most suitable substrates to both species were hazelnuts, raw and toasted, as well as chocolate with hazelnuts; the highest index of susceptibility was recorded for raw hazelnuts.
