Susceptibility of some wheat cultivars to Alternaria triticina and the biochemical changes associated with infection

The susceptibility of 12 wheat cultivars to Alternaria triticina was studied under greenhouse conditions by sowing seed in infested soil. There was variation among the cultivars for susceptibility. The most resistant were Bany-Suif 1, Sakha 8, Giza 162 and Giza 163 and the most susceptible was Sakha 92. Infection with A. triticina caused significant decrease in growth parameters especially in susceptible cultivars.
