The susceptibility of Plutella xylostella to 7 products containing Bacillus thuringiensis and 5 conventional insecticides was evaluated in the field and laboratory at Oono, Oshima district, Japan, in 1995. In the field, B. thuringiensis products with a dead-spore formulation were more effective than spore and crystal formulations. Laboratory assays were conducted using 2nd- and 3rd-instar larvae collected from cruciferous crops.
