Sustainable aqua-agro-silvo-touro-pastoralism on a few hectares in Goa state, India

Sylva recd 1997; 56: 14-16

A brief account is given of the operation of a homestead agrosilviaquacultural system operated by a farm owner in Goa, which is open to tourist visits. The aquacultural component is tiger prawns and a mixed population of fishes and clams in separate pools which are harvested by outside fishermen; frogs and clams for family consumption are raised in a concrete cistern close to the farmhouse.
