Sustainable food production in Thailand
The paper discusses constraints to agricultural sustainability in Thailand and ways in which sustainable crop production can be achieved. The constraints include: population growth; deforestation, which has resulted in a reduction in rainfall, and is probably the main reason for the 1994 drought; land degradation and erosion; pest problems; and socioeconomic problems, particularly poverty.
