Sustainable multiple use management and values of Dutch forests

Sustainable multiple use management and values of Dutch forests

Ecological economics and sustainable development: theory, methods and applications: 199-216

Dutch forests serve multiple interests (timber production, forest recreation and nature conservation) and are under various types of stress. This article presents a case study of such a stressed forest, discussing models for its management, an operational multiple use model in the Smilde-Appelscha forest in NE Netherlands, model tests, scenario analysis by simulation, and multicriteria and cost-benefit evaluation.
