Sustainable tourism in Nepal's Royal Chitwan National Park

The Royal Chitwan National Park, Nepal, faces significant challenges in balancing human-use needs and the demands of an increasing number of tourists, with conservation and protection. Through the implementation of a Buffer Zone Management Scheme, the park administration plans to create a multiple-use zoning system, as well as invest 30%-50% of revenues in community development.
