Sweet pepper gene conservation in long-term storage

Storage trials were conducted with seeds of Capsicum annuum Javitott Cecei harvested in 1972 and 1974 and stored in the winters of 1972-73 and 1974-75. Aspects taken into account included solids content of the seeds, storage temperature, storage methods and containers. Results suggested that seed quality could be maintained in long-term storage in glass jars and hard plastic flasks sealed hermetically.
