Sweet pepper grown on organic substrates compared to soil under high plastic tunnels

Studies were carried out during 1993 and 1994 in a plastic tunnel. Growth and yield of sweet peppers (Capsicum annuum Bianca) grown on composted bark + red peat + black peat or sand + red peat + black peat media were compared with those of soil-grown plants. The fertilizer regime used was based on the composition of the substrate and the plants physiological requirements.
