Sweet plastics

Existing biopolymers usable as biodegradable plastics (polyhydroxybutyrate, polyhydroxysuccinate and polylactic acid) are relatively expensive and little used. Bio Plastics Inc. of Denver have developed patented biocomposite plastic formulations of simple sugars and natural fibres, as renewable cheap substitutes for known plastics.
