Sweet sorghum bagasse: a raw material for the production of chemical paper pulp. Effect of depithing

Sweet sorghum bagasse: a raw material for the production of chemical paper pulp. Effect of depithing

Industrial Crops and Products 6(3/4): 229-232

Sweet sorghum can be regarded as a major new raw material for the paper industry. Bagasse from the sweet sorghum cultivar Tracy (grown in the Gard region of France) was used as raw material for making an excellent chemical pulp which can be used in sectors usually restricted to superior chemical pulps such as those obtained from softwood.
