, : The changes of endogenous IAA and cytokinin contents during adventitious root formation in thin cell layer cultures of Cichorium intybus explants. Plant Physiology Communications 31(2): 97-99

The explants (epidermis and parenchyma cells), 5-6 mm in length and 1-2 mm in width, were taken from the flower stalk during flowering and cultured on MS medium containing different plant growth regulators at 25+or-1 degrees C and 1300-7000 Lx (12 h/day) for 40 days. After culture for 10 days, before formation of adventitious root primordia, the IAA content of explants increased 6-fold as compared with the initial culture, then decreased.
