The characteristics of soil moisture budget in oasis farmland

, : The characteristics of soil moisture budget in oasis farmland. Arid Land Geography 19(3): 66-71

Soil moisture dynamics in irrigated oasis farmland and in bare land in the Tarim Basin, China, are described. Soil moisture in the farmland shows seasonal variations, particularly when the groundwater table is high. In the irrigated areas variation in the groundwater table may range from 1.0 to 1.5 m, being greater during the irrigation season.
