, : The chemistry and action of 6-alkylsalicylates of Indian Ginkgo biloba. Indian Journal of Chemistry Section B, Organic including Medicinal 36(3): 257-263

Five 6-alkyl (n-tridecyl-, n-pentadecyl-, n-pentadecenyl- and n-heptadecenyl-) salicylates, in free and conjugated (esters, phospholipids) forms, constituting one of the largest classes of bioactive metabolites, were isolated from leaves and fruits of 10 G. biloba trees (aged 3- to 80-years-old and collected from different parts of India). Their structures were elucidated from spectral data, chemical transformation and by direct comparison with authentic markers.
