The coffee of Coatepec: the dynamics of a Mexican coffee basin

, : The coffee of Coatepec: the dynamics of a Mexican coffee basin. Le cafe de Coatepec: la dynamique d' un bassin cafeier au Mexique: 197 pp.

The history of the Coatepec (Mexico) coffee producing zone is documented. In areas most suited to its cultivation, coffee today is grown in a monocultural system. The economy of the production area is thus particularly sensitive to fluctuations in world coffee bean prices. The most recent crisis, which occurred in 1989, was the start of a difficult period, in particular for small growers.
