A community of the higher Diptera was studied on wetlands in the riparian zone of the Divoka Orlice river in north-eastern Bohemia, Czech Republic, 250 m above sea level, in 1992. A total of 10 060 individuals in 438 species and 46 families was recorded. Dominance, diversity, species similarity and variety of dipterocoenoses were evaluated in three partial biotopes and in the locality in total.
