The article examines the conference tourism industry in Quebec, Canada, with a focus on its development in Sherbrooke in the region of Cantons-de-l'Est. According to statistics produced by Tourisme Quebec, conference tourism generated around C$953 million in expenditure in Quebec in 1994. Recent evidence suggests that the conference industry is continuing to grow.
