The conservation of Macropis europaea at Pulborough Brooks

, : The conservation of Macropis europaea at Pulborough Brooks. The conservation of Macropis europaea at Pulborough Brooks: 71 pp.

The nesting habits, flight activity and population size of M. europaea at this lowland wet grassland site in Sussex, UK, were studied in July-August 1992. The distribution of Lysimachia vulgaris, the obligate forage plant of this bee, was found to be the limiting factor for M. europaea at this site. The mark and recapture technique used was unsuccessful and no nest aggregations were found. Alternative methods and future studies are suggested.
