The conservation of biodiversity in Singapore: status and research prospects

, : The conservation of biodiversity in Singapore: status and research prospects. Wallaceana ( 76): 1-5

The Convention on Biological Diversity of the United Nations, signed by Singapore in 1993, is implemented locally mainly through the Singapore Green Plan. This plan has identified 19 nature conservation sites covering approximately 3130 ha of mangrove and forest habitats throughout the island. The organization responsible for these areas is the National Parks Board, the government's authority on nature conservation.
