The continued decline of forests exploited by agriculture

The continued decline of forests exploited by agriculture

INRA Sciences Sociales ( 2): 1-4

The revised CAP aims in particular to promote an agriculture which takes better account of the environment. As a result, increased attention is being given to the activities of agriculturalists in woods and forests, which are often regarded as a source of supplementary income as much as pasturage. This is despite the fact that the area of forest and woodland exploited by farmers in France has decreased by about a third between 1970 and 1988.
