The control of the apple peel tortricid Adoxophyes orana F.v.R. (Lepidoptera, Tortricidae) and other apple pests with extracts of the neem plant Azadirachta indica A. Juss (Meliaceae) with reference to side effects on natural enemies

, : The control of the apple peel tortricid Adoxophyes orana F.v.R. (Lepidoptera, Tortricidae) and other apple pests with extracts of the neem plant Azadirachta indica A. Juss (Meliaceae) with reference to side effects on natural enemies. Zur Bekampfung des Apfelschalenwicklers Adoxophyes orana FvR Lepidoptera, Tortricidae und anderer Apfelschadlinge mit Inhaltsstoffen des Niembaumes Azadirachta indica A Juss Meliaceae unter Berucksichtigung von Nebenwirkungen auf naturliche Feinde: 161 pp.

Investigations in the laboratory and field in Germany in 1991-94 on the effects of neem extracts on Adoxophyes orana and other pests of apple, and on some natural enemies of pests in apple orchards, are reported. Studies on the biology of A. orana are also reported. The optimum temperature for development of the tortricid lay between 25 and 30 degrees C. A new model for forecasting development in the field was developed. In field trials, control was best with neem extract at 100 p.p.m.
