The control of the nun moth Lymantria monacha L. with the use of Bacillus thuringiensis Berl. in Poland

The control of the nun moth Lymantria monacha L. with the use of Bacillus thuringiensis Berl. in Poland

Bulletin OILB/SROP 19(9): 57-60

The control of outbreaks of Lymantria monacha on Scots pine larch and spruce stands in Poland is discussed. Studies were also carried out on the control of L. monacha using Bacillus thuringiensis products. During the biggest outbreak in 1978-84, when L. monacha was controlled on a total area of 6 million ha, B. thuringiensis was tested on 50 000 ha of treated stands, while 99.2% of infested stands were sprayed with pyrethroids.
