The control of ventilation system efficiency by fluid dynamics analysis
Environmental control of pig housing requires control of temperature, humidity, gaseous contaminants and dust. Performance of the ventilation system may be affected by building geometry, inlet and outlet locations, or the presence of obstructions to air flow. Fluid dynamics was used to study two different ventilation schemes in the same building. The air velocity field, temperature and ammonia distribution were studied using a finite difference computational code.
