The effect of nitrogen and Florovit fertilizer application on the yield of selected horse bean cultivars. II. Plant density, yield structure components and effectiveness of nitrogen fertilizer application

In field trials on degraded chernozem near Krakow in 1989-91, Vicia faba Dino and Nadwislanski were given 0, 40 or 80 kg N/ha before sowing and a foliar application of 0 or 2 litres Florovit (containing N, P, K, Ca, S, Mg and trace elements)/ha before flowering. Number of plants/msuperscript 2, 1000-seed weight and numbers of pods/plant, seeds/pod and seeds/plant were not affected by N rate or Florovit application, but were influenced by weather conditions in the 3 years.
