The effect of nitrogen rate on the combining ability and heterosis in maize traits

The effect of 4 nitrogen levels (60, 120, 180 and 240 kg/ha) on combining ability and heterosis of agronomic characteristics was studied in maize hybrids from a 6 parent half-diallel cross. Nitrogen level had a non-significant effect while genotype had a significant effect on the performance of the agronomic characters.
