The effect of sex factor in chicken on the rate of their skeletal maturation estimated by the radiographic method

Annals of Warsaw Agricultural University SGGW AR, Veterinary Medicine ( 18): 79-89

The effect of sex factor in chicken on the rate of their skeletal maturation estimated by the radiographic method

47 male and 51 female White Rock fowls reared under intensive or extensive systems were subjected to X-irradiation from 24 to 95 days of age. For both management systems and the early, middle and late periods of skeletal maturation, maturation occurred at a lower age and body weight in females than in males.
