The effects of imidacloprid on the termite Reticulitermes flavipes and its interaction with the mycopathogen Beauveria bassiana

In studies the subterranean termite species Reticulitermes flavipes was found to be highly resistant to the entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana. This social insect species does not employ any detectable fungicidal substances or other endogenous defence mechanisms to combat the pathogen.
