The influence of parasitoids on Lymantria dispar (Lepidoptera, Lymantriidae) in woodlands with different population densities and fluctuations

The influence of parasitoids on Lymantria dispar (Lepidoptera, Lymantriidae) in woodlands with different population densities and fluctuations

Mitteilungen der Deutschen Gesellschaft fur Allgemeine und Angewandte Entomologie 10(1-6): 129-134

An investigation was carried out from 1989 until 1994 in three broadleaved woodlands in SW Germany (6 plots in either pure Quercus rubra, mixed Q. robur and Q. rubra, or Q. robur, Q. rubra and Carpinus betulus) with low, medium and high population fluctuations of gypsy moth (Lymantria dispar). Nineteen species of primary parasitoids of eggs, larvae and pupae were yielded by rearing tests.
