The morphology and function of floral organs for cytoplasmic male-sterile line of tuber mustard

A cytoplasmic male sterile (CMS) tuber mustard (Brassica juncea var. tumida) line was produced from a hybrid of B. juncea x B. campestris subsp. pekinensis with CMS by backcrossing to B. juncea for 6 generations. It has polymorphic floral parts with 3 distinct corolla forms among individual flowers: closed, partially spread and fully spread forms. Each flower has a column or cross-shaped pistil, which is normal or heterostylic. Flowers have, on average, 4 petals and 2.8 nectaries.
