The service experience in tourism

The service experience in tourism

Tourism Management 17(3): 165-174

This paper outlines the method and results of the scale development process and investigates its usefulness in facilitating an understanding of the service experience in tourism. It develops and tests a scale which uses survey data to capture consumers' impressions of the experience of three different tourism service sectors: hotels, airlines, and tours and attractions. Data were derived from 339 visitors to the Vancouver Tourism Information Centre in Canada in 1994.
