Uncertainty and risk analysis of nutrient management; a model survey for nitrogen fertilization of grassland

Variations and uncertainties in nitrogen (N) flows in grassland were quantified by using a simple model. The newly developed N risk model calculates dry matter (DM) production and N losses as a function of weather and soil conditions, and grassland management, taking into account possible uncertainties and variations of the input variables. The effect of these uncertainties and variations on results such as grass production and N losses are calculated via Monte Carlo simulations.
