Use of Lamisil in mycological practice

Vestnik Dermatologii i Venerologii ( 6): 42-43

Terbinafine (Lamisil) was used to treat 132 patients from Russia with dermatomycoses. Terbinafine was given at the dose of one tablet of 250 mg/d for adults, 62.5 mg/d for children weighing <20 kg and at 125 mg/d for children weighing 20-40 kg. The treatment, continued for 2 wk for the 41 patients with dermatomycosis of the feet, was 100% effective with no fungi found at follow-up 8 wk after treatment. 51 (94.4%) patients with onychomycosis, treated for 6-12 wk were cured.
