In field studies conducted at Kalyani, West Bengal in 1992-94, groundnuts JL 24 and ICGV 86015 were given 0 or 50 kg K2O/ha and established on flat beds with or without earthing-up, or in broad beds and furrows. Application of 50 kg K2O increased pod, kernel and oil yields by 2.6, 3.2 and 3.4% in kharif (rainy) seasons and by 3.7, 4.0 and 4.2% in summer, respectively, over no potash.
