1647S - a photosensitive genic male sterile japonica rice (PGMS) developed via anther culture

1647S - a photosensitive genic male sterile japonica rice (PGMS) developed via anther culture

Acta Agriculturae Boreali Sinica 12(1): 41-45

Photosensitive genic male sterile japonica rice line 1647S was developed by anther culture in conjunction with conventional breeding. Sterility is stable under a 15 h photoperiod and it has a clear fertility transformation period when cultivated in the Beijing plain region. It is characterized by good plant form, fine kernel quality, high combining ability and high anther culture efficiency.
