The model of economic evaluation of forest protection treatments against defoliating insect pests discussed in this paper aims to explain the most important ecological and economic aspects of outbreak development and management. The equations making up the model methods enable calculation of the economic effectiveness of protective treatments in forests, including the value of the effects obtained (avoided losses) and the costs spent on pest management.
