A multicentre study by the Italian Association of Clinical Microbiology Parasitology Study Committee (AMCLI CoSP) on the distribution of intestinal parasites in Italy: intestinal parasites in immigrants

Giornale Italiano di Medicina Tropicale 1997; 1(3/4): 97-99

A study was carried out by 25 Italian laboratories (14 in the north of Italy, 6 in the centre and 5 in the south) over 12 months (1994-1995). For each specimen a microscopic examination was carried out, both directly and after formol-ether concentration. The use of other techniques, such as permanent staining and cultures, was optional.
