A statistical model for white meat yield in broilers

Data on carcass yield and dimensions of the fillet of the pectoralis major were collected from 129 broilers, aged 38 days, from 5 female and 3 male commercial lines. In the 2nd part of the study, sires from 9 commercial broiler lines were mated to "classic type" control females. The chicks were grown to 40 or 49 days of age and slaughtered, and fillet dimension data were recorded.
