Abundance of harmful and beneficial arthropods in seed lucerne crops located in southern Oltenia

Arthropods were surveyed in seed lucerne crops growing near Dabuleni on sandy soils under an arid climate. Pest species represented 84.6% of the arthropods observed. Homopteran pests were dominant (33.1%), followed by Heteroptera (18.0%), Coleoptera (13.5%), Hymenoptera (11.6%), Thysanoptera (7.3%), Lepidoptera (0.6%), Orthoptera (0.2%) and Diptera (0.5%).
