The feasibility of estimating expected progeny differences and between-breed comparisons, in addition to the traditional growth and feed efficiency measures, from an integrated birth-to-beef data collection system was investigated. Carcass data were collected on 5162 commercial cattle in the birth-to-beef information system. Preweaning and herd performance information was available on a subset of 1649 of these animals.
