ATPase activity in bud stands (tissue underlying the bud) from peach Dixired decreased from October until late December and subsequently increased until March. ATPase activity was lower than that in bud stands during bud dormancy (October-November), but it increased thereafter and remained at a higher level than that in bud stands. ATPase quantity increased in buds but decreased in bud stands between October and December.
