The effects of oral administration of all-trans-retinoic acid (ATRA) on inhibition of intimal thickening after balloon angioplasty was studied in the rabbit iliac artery atherosclerotic model. Iliac atherosclerosis was induced in 24 rabbits, and balloon angioplasty was performed.
