A trial was conducted in a greenhouse at the Instituto de Zootecnia in Nova Odessa state of Sao Paulo, Brazil, from March to May 1991, to evaluate the allelopathic effects of aqueous extracts (8.2 ml and 16.4 ml/pot) obtained from Brachiaria decumbens, B. humidicola and B. brizantha Marandu on Centrosema pubescens, Calopogonium mucunoides, Macrotyloma axillare Guata and Stylosanthes guianensis subsp. guianensis.
