An analysis of compatibility between Yunnan naked rice and its test varieties
Fertility of F1s and F2s was evaluated in 24 cross combinations between 4 test varieties (indica and japonica) and 6 naked rice varieties in Yiliang County, Yunnan Province, in 1995 and 1996. Considerable differences were observed among the test varieties in the duration of flowering and heading. Widely compatible varieties (02428 and Lunhui 422) showed a flowering habit similar to that of the indica type while their morphology appeared similar to the japonica type.
