An analysis is presented of the prices of major food crops grown in eight villages (two from each of four drought prone mandals: Kundurpi, Kambadur, Bramhasamudram and Amarapuram) in Andhra Pradesh, India, and the prices of foods available in the local markets of the eight villages. Data were obtained for the peak season (September-January) and the lean season (March-July) 1993/94.
