An attempt to evaluate the frequency of the HALn gene in the Polish population of Pietrain pigs

, : An attempt to evaluate the frequency of the HALn gene in the Polish population of Pietrain pigs. Prace i Materiay Zootechniczne, Zeszyt Specjalny ( 8): 147-148

Blood samples obtained in 1996-97 from 125 Pietrain gilts from 19 herds in Poland, the daughters of 23 boars, were examined using PCR and RFLP technique. 120 of the gilts were homozygous (HALn/HALn) and 5 were heterozygous (HALNHALN).
