Apple rootstock and scion cultivar interact to affect tree performance in the 1990 NC-140 cultivar/rootstock trial

Apple rootstock and scion cultivar interact to affect tree performance in the 1990 NC-140 cultivar/rootstock trial

Compact Fruit Tree 30: 6-9

Interim results are presented for field trials initiated in 1990 at 17 locations in the USA and Canada, to investigate tree performance of different rootstock/cultivar combinations. Four scion cultivars with different growth habits (Empire, Smoothee Golden Delicious, Nicobel Jonagold and Law Rome) were grafted onto promising rootstocks from previous NC-140 trials (M.9 EMLA, B.9, Mark, O.3 and M.26 EMLA) in all combinations.
