Artificial hatching of silkworm eggs (Bombyx mori L.) after different chilling periods

Artificial hatching of silkworm eggs (Bombyx mori L.) after different chilling periods

Indian Journal of Sericulture 36(1): 47-50

ISSN/ISBN: 0445-7722

The eggs of bivoltine Bombyx mori races/hybrids namely, NB7, NB18, KA, NB4D2, NB7 x NB18, KA x NB4D2 and NB4D2 x KA were stored for 25-50 h in cold storage after oviposition. The eggs after different durations of cold storage, were exposed to the room temperature at an interval of every 5-10 days and treated with hydrochloric acid of 1.11 specific gravity (at 15 degrees C) for a period of 37 +or- 2 minutes at 35 degrees C.
